Sharing gives them a copy to keep

When you share a run, BYB Tech copies it into the professional's own library. From that moment it is theirs: it counts against their storage, and they can rename, analyse, annotate and delete it exactly as they would a run they recorded themselves.

You keep your own copy. Sharing does not move a run out of your library and does not change it.

You choose what to share, run by run. You can also ask for every future run from a bike to be shared automatically with a professional you are connected to.

Stopping does not take anything back

You can stop sharing new runs at any time: stop an automatic rule, unshare a run that has not yet been delivered, or break the connection entirely.

None of these reach a run the professional has already received. There is no recall.

A run that has not yet reached them can still be stopped. Delivery is not always immediate — a professional with no storage space left receives nothing until they free some — and anything still waiting when you break the connection is cancelled.

They may involve others

A professional you share with may pass your runs to another professional — a second technician, or an engineer at the company that built your suspension — without asking you again.

This is deliberate. Escalating a difficult setup problem to the people who designed the parts is a normal part of the work you are asking them to do.

It also means your runs may reach a professional you have never connected to. BYB Tech records each transfer between accounts, but does not limit how many times a run may be passed on.

Deleting your runs, or your account

Deleting a run from your own library removes your copy and stops any delivery still waiting. It does not remove copies already received.

Closing your BYB Tech account does not reach them either. A professional holds their copies under their own account, and closing yours does not touch theirs.

A professional may delete their copy whenever they choose. We do not promise that a shared run will be kept — only that stopping sharing will not remove it.

What travels with a run

A shared run carries the suspension settings the bike was on when it was recorded, and a description of the bike itself. Without them the run cannot be interpreted, which is the whole reason for sharing it.

It also carries your rider details: your name, weight, height, riding style and level. These become a rider profile in the professional's account, so their record of you remains after the connection ends.

Your date of birth and any identity document held by BYB Tech do not travel with a run and are never shown to a professional.

What you are not shown

You are not shown what a professional does with a run after they receive it. You will not see whether they opened it, what they changed, or whether they passed it on.

You can see at any time who you are connected to and which runs you have shared with them.

Your rights over a shared copy

Data protection law gives you rights over personal data about you. Those rights exist independently of these terms and nothing here removes them.

Where a professional holds a copy of your runs and rider details in their own account, responsibility for answering a request about that copy may rest with them rather than with BYB Tech. Which of us is responsible depends on the circumstances.

Which version applies

These terms are versioned. The version in force when you accept a connection is recorded against that connection, so a later change to this page does not alter what you agreed to at the time.

If these terms change, the new version applies to connections accepted after it takes effect. Connections already accepted keep the version they were accepted under.
